Frank Sidney Smith is a largely self taught artist drawing on his life experiences; Frank has the ability in his own charming way to capture all emotions, but the humour jumps out from the paintings in his wonderful childlike style.

The stories Frank remembers flow like an endless talking encyclopaedia and one can’t help but be captivated; the paintings reflect the sorrows of his life, but they also reflect other aspects of his character and he has retained a childlike zest and a rare ability to also remember the joyful times.

Miraculously, he early developed a sturdy individualism that enabled him to come through crisis without rancour. Frank is one of life’s survivors.
